The burning of effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna on the day of Vijayadashami in the historic Gandhi Maidan of Gaya symbolized the grand conclusion of Dussehra. Thousands of people had gathered to witness this festival of victory of truth over untruth. The procession of Lord Shri Ram was brought to Gandhi Maidan by Shri Dussehra Committee, after which people loudly raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram.

Ravana Dahan has been organized by the Dussehra Committee continuously since 1953 at Gandhi Maidan. This year also a 60 feet high effigy of Ravana was prepared. As soon as Ravana was burnt, a spectacular sight of fireworks was seen in the sky, which made the entire atmosphere festive.

Strict security arrangements were made during Ravana Dahan. Magistrates and police forces were deployed at all the gates of Gandhi Maidan. DM Dr. Tyag Rajan SM and SSP Ashish Bharti and other senior officers were engaged in supervising the security. Drone cameras were also used to monitor the crowd.

After Ravana Dahan, special arrangements were made to safely evacuate the crowd from the ground, so that there is no chaos. The fireworks and burning of the effigy of Ravana created an atmosphere of excitement and joy in the entire ground. With this the festival of Dussehra was completed successfully.
